Bubbles - Do you have pages that need some realistic bubbles? Here is a great tip. Take 1-2 inch circles in blue and than layer them with 1-2 inch circles of wax paper. | Chipboard
|
Photos - Adhere your photo to a piece of chipboard with any adhesive. Sand the edges of the photo and chipboard. Apply clear ink to entire photo and sanded area, pour utee over the whole thing and heat gun it. Be sure not to the heat too close or the photo will brown. When it dries it comes out so neat looking...like a fridge magnet! Here is an example of one I made and used on a layout. | Clean-up
|
Lint Brush - If you take a lint brush with masking tape and use it for cleaning up those small pieces of paper scraps, and even glitter. | Distressing

Paper Tearing - Paper tearing is an easy technique that any one can do. The tools are inexpensive. Paper and your own two hands. First take the paper and hold it at the top of the piece where you would like to start tearing from. Then rip towards you to get a white edge and away from you to get the top of the paper edge. There are tools that help keep this uniformed for those who like to follow a pattern. Sanding - Sanding adds a great aged and antique effect to any layout or project. This is easy to achieve. All you need to do is use sand paper or an emery board across your project until you achieve the desired look your after. Wrinkled - Take a spray bottle and lightly mist your cardstock. Crumble the paper into a ball. Flatten out and lay to dry. Repeat until you get the desired look you want to achieve. | Embossing
|
No Burnt Fingers - Cover a clipboard with aluminum foil and clip your artwork to it before you heat. The metal will help distribute the heat faster and clipping it down will help you not burn your fingers! Static Cling - Before you start to stamp your image to emboss, run a dryer sheet over the surface you are working on. Then stamp your image and apply embossing powder. The powder will not stick to the rest of the surface. | Frugal
|
Chalk - Even cheaper than eyeshadow! Go to the dollar store and buy chalk.
It may not be as concentrated in color or packaged in the little cakes,
but still nice for subtle chalking looks!
Go in with a few friends because a package of chalk usually has several of the same color,
and one stick of sidewalk chalk will last forever.

Backgrounds - Create your own background paper by placing colorful items on a color scanner
and closing the top (if the cover won\'t close,
lay a piece of heavy white cardstock).
Now you can print out a background paper whenever you want it.

Ribbon Storage - Do you use spices and have left over bottles after they are empty?
These make great inexpensive storage containers for ribbon and fibers.
Just wash them out good. Take are few ribbons or fibers by coordinating colors.
Place in the container leaving a little bit to put in through the lids holes.
Place the lid back on and there you have it.
Decorate as desired. |
